Samuel Smith was founded in 1758 in Tadcaster England, and this Imperial stout was originally brewed to withstand the transport in foul weather to Imperial Russia. It was a favorite of Russian nobility who had a taste for the FINEST food and drink, and chose this guy specifically!

It is a flavorful brew that is deep chocolate in color with roasted barley nose and flavor that is a complexity of malt, hops, alcohol and yeast. Fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’, which is a method of brewing dating 200 years that involving a second story cat walk, 6 days, and pupking the fermenting wort from the bottom to mix in the yeast throughout the batch.
